Education researchers have published a wealth of SDG-related research in recent years (see e.g. Springer Nature SDG4-Hub) aimed at addressing the urgent issues we are currently coping with. Without progress on the UN SDG4, Quality Education, the world likely won’t make much progress on any of the other Goals. Education researchers and educators know how central quality education is to human, social, and scientific development. Without education, we lack engineers, physicists, and chemists to develop sustainable energy; we lack marine biologists to explore the world below water; we lack economists to tackle poverty or develop paths to decent work; etc.
