- Submission status

Tinnitus is a global, yet highly neglected condition. With greater prevalence in the elderly, tinnitus still occurs in children. This Topical Issue will cover the epidemiology of tinnitus, risk factors, genetics and biomarkers, the impact on life quality, knowledge that emerged from pre-clinical studies, what neuroimaging studies have taught us, and perspective on the therapeutic potentials and the clinical management. We will conclude with a piece tackling the question: what should governments do?
