Abstract

This chapter begins with a general medical description of clinical anxiety, followed by statistics about the prevalence of anxiety among members of the autistic population. The perspectives of clinicians treating anxiety exhibited by autistic people, parents raising autistic children with anxiety, and autistic people with anxiety are then presented. The final section of this chapter explains several topics about autistic people with anxiety that can receive more research in the future.
