Dario Maestripieri is a Professor at the University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois. He is a biopsychologist who conducts research concerning (1) evolution of human and animal behavior and (2) neuroendocrine regulation of human and animal behavior.

Early Life, Educational Background, and Professional Career

Dario Maestripieri was born in Rome, Italy, in 1964. He obtained his high school diploma in Rome in 1982 and then attended the University of Roma La Sapienza where he obtained his Laurea (B.Sc. and Master’s degree) in 1987 and his Ph.D. in Psychobiology in 1992. During his Ph.D. studies, Dr. Maestripieri spent 1 year (1990–1991) as a visiting scholar in the Sub-department of Animal Behaviour of the University of Cambridge, UK. He moved to the United States in 1992, to begin a postdoc at the Yerkes National Primate Research Center (YNPRC) of Emory University in Atlanta.
