Abstract
Facial sexual dimorphism in human beings is an important concept for all reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgeons to understand. To provide appropriate care to patients, the surgeon needs to have a strong grasp of the defining features of the male face from its bony framework to the overlying soft tissue structure. Only with such understanding can the surgeon enhance or soften classically “masculine” features to best fit the patient’s goals and gender identity.
