Abstract
As ultrasound plays an increasing role in a variety of disorders, it seems timely to provide a short introduction to lung ultrasound for the rheumatologist. While high resolution CT remains the gold standard for diagnosing interstitial thickening in connective tissue disease, ultrasound may be considered an add-on imaging modality to chest X-ray and chest CT.
