American University Center for Community Engagement and Service
AU brings 10-15 trained tutors to LPTM each day through their DC Reads program. Tutors work one-on-one with our Apprentices to help develop their reading comprehension, phonics and math skills. Assessments show that Apprentices come to LPTM behind in reading skills. The goal is to get them on target for their grade level. Learn more
Families 4 Families DMV
Life Pieces To Masterpieces is partnered with Families 4 Families DMV to support our families in need. Through various school clubs, including Families 4 Families Maret Middle School, and Families 4 Families Maret High School, they organize, donate, and distribute groceries and essential supplies, we can connect and deliver them for those in our community who need it most. The George Washington University Nashman Center
George Washington University’s Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service has been a partner of Life Pieces to Masterpieces through engageDC since 2010. The engageDC program seeks to connect students with long-term service opportunities in the greater D.C. area. Our partnership brings in students with an interest in youth serving education, putting to use their skills in the classroom while offering new skills in nonprofit management and education programming. Our engageDC partners also work to connect LPTM to the vast resources and opportunities in GWU, which include campus space, service learning courses, and professional development and networking opportunities. Washington & Lee University Shepherd Internship Program
A national organization that matches two college interns each year with LPTM for eight weeks. Students help with administrative and program and teacher assistance. Learn more
