I owe money for lost books how can I pay?

I lost books, DVDs, CDs and would like to pay for them.

Answer

You can pay replacement fees for lost books at any branch of NYPL and pay with cash, personal check or U.S. Postal money order:
https://www.nypl.org/locations/

Fines cannot be paid by telephone, but NYPL does offer online payment for fines in excess of $1.00, including via our main catalog:
https://browse.nypl.org/

To do so, first log into your account, select the "Fines/Fees" link on the left, and then click on "Pay Online". A new window should open up, and there you can select the fines you'd like to pay, click "Continue", and then follow the instructions from there (basically, you'll enter your address and payment information).

Here's an NYPL Web page with more information about fines:
https://www.nypl.org/help/borrowing-materials/library-fines-and-fees

Please note that the Library will not accept replacement copies of lost items (due to the necessary staff time required to process items for circulation).
