The aim of this course is to guide you through VigiLyze and its main functionalities to optimize the analysis of drug/vaccine safety data in your pharmacovigilance centre.

It takes approximately 1.5 h to complete this course.  

We strongly recommend you to complete the PV management system and terminologies course before taking this course. It will provide you with an introduction to MedDRA and WHODrug terminologies that are integrated in VigiLyze. Understanding their structure is crucial for appropriate use of VigiLyze. 

Course syllabus

       1. Introduction to VigiLyze

        After the session you will be able to:

  • describe the process of how national or regional centres are supported by VigiLyze
  • explain the main functionalities in VigiLyze, including the two existing workflows
  • list the types of information available on the landing page 
  • adjust VigiLyze settings according to current needs 
  • change between the country/region and global focus
  • create custom groups for countries of special interest

      2. The qualitative workflow

        After the session you will be able to:

  • use filters available in the qualitative workflow
  • carry out drug searches on the active ingredient or trade name level and/or via the ATC view
  • carry out ADR searches on the preferred term level and/or via the SOC and SMQ views
  • describe information available in each tab in the qualitative workflow 

       3. The quantitative workflow

         After the session you will be able to:

  • list situations where quantitative signal detection could be a suitable analysis approach
  • use filters in the quantitative section to search for relevant drug–ADR combinations

      4. Investigations

        After the session you will be able to:

  • recognize how VigiLyze investigations can help avoid double work and improve transparency within your organization
  • describe investigations available in the Investigations area
