How does it work?
The new Enterprise File Storage backend is designed to make it easy for users to connect privately to their managed file storage:
- After ordering your Enterprise File Storage, access your Control Panel and configure your capacity pool.
- Configure your network by creating a new Service Endpoint for your capacity pool, in 3 simple steps:
- Enable vRack Services and associate it with your vRack.
- Create a subnet and service range for your capacity pool.
- Create an endpoint for your service on the subnet.
- Define the ACLs.
- Create and mount your volumes.
Discover vRack Services
vRack Services is a new product which offers IP services in the vRack.
By creating a service endpoint, you can now expose an OVHcloud managed service (eg Enterprise File Storage) with a private IP address on a dedicated subnet in your vRack. This ensures that all communications with your managed service remain private and secure as they never leave your private network, which is 100% isolated from other customers and the public network. Configuration is also quick and easy, either via the API or the control panel.
Enterprise File Storage is the first managed service to support Service Endpoint. Many other OVHcloud managed services will support Service Endpoint in the future.
What you'll get to test in the beta programme
During the beta programme, we will deliver a service with the following configuration:
- Capacity pools are available in GRA, RBX and LIM.
- Maximum capacity pool size: 2TB (5TB on specific request).
- Enterprise File Storage Term & Conditions do not apply to Alpha & Beta phase. As it comes without any SLA, this service should be only used for testing and not used in production. Users should therefore avoid hosting any sensitive information or production workloads.
