Internships

The Beth & Julia Meltzer Summer Internship Program

Throughout LAANE’s 30 years as an organization, we have made it a priority to train the next generation of social justice activists and leaders.

To honor two longtime LAANE supporters, we established the Beth and Julia Meltzer Internship Program in 2012. With the annual support of private donors and because we believe in fair wages for all workers, including interns, LAANE offers this paid internship program with the opportunity to learn about community organizing, worker organizing, communications, development, and research. Additionally, interns learn first hand how LAANE operates, take part in professional development work and immerse themselves in labor relations. This transformative internship program helps jump-start intern’s careers as social justice advocates. Many interns have gone on to work for other progressive social justice organizations – some have even become LAANE staff members.

This year, the 2024 Beth and Julia Meltzer Internship Program will take place from June 17 until August 9, 2024. The internship will be conducted in-person.

Applications are now closed for the 2024 program, and we thank all applicants for their interest. As we have received an overwhelming number of applications, we appreciate everyone’s patience. Qualified applicants will be contacted with next steps by the Internship Coordinator.  If you have questions, please email Stephanie Rivera at srivera@laane.org.
