The Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) held a press conference on Wednesday to update where their resources are at as wildfires spread across the state.

Representatives of the company shared they are on high alert across their market, and say customers should have a plan ready in case of an outage. Sharing they predict a high load to the grid of over 22,600 watts. Which is coming close to the highest of all time of 22,684, which happened in September 2022.

However, Vice President of Wildfire & Emergency Operations Mark Quinlan says their equipment and personnel are at the ready. Already sending out teams in helicopters to actively monitor 50 of their powerlines.

“We’ve activated the emergency operations center here in Vacaville," Quinlan says. "We’ve also opened our five regional emergency centers and nineteen division operation centers so its really an all hands event for us.“

They report they expect the highest strain over the next week to be between 3-9 p.m. every day. Stationing over 3,000 personnel across the state at the ready in case something goes down.

Despite the strain they did the all clear on the public safety power shutoff that went into effect Wednesday morning. Sharing they don't predict conditions will require any more in the next few days.

They ask all customers stay up to date on planned power outages, issues, and resources they can use for assistance online.
