“It is crucial to have affordable, accessible, and quality childcare and early education in New Jersey,” said Congressman Kean. “Early education results in better outcomes for our children, and that without accessible early education, parents’ capabilities to provide for their families are constrained. This nearly $3.8 million-dollar federal grant will make great strides in addressing the unique needs of Somerville and make a real difference in the lives of families in Somerset County.”

“From the very beginning, I have advocated for the cancellation of congestion pricing, a program that is deeply flawed, unfair, and is just a money-grab on New Jerseyans,” said Congressman Kean. “I have made it a priority of mine in Congress to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to put a stop to the congestion pricing program that was set to begin this month. I am glad to hear that Governor Hochul has postponed this program, but the fight is not over. ‘Indefinitely postponed’ is not enough. I will continue to work in Congress until there is a permanent cancellation of congestion pricing.”

“The Fire Grants and Safety Act, which I drafted and introduced, was signed into law by President Biden today,” said Congressman Kean. “This bill will provide firefighters, as well as the communities they serve, the protection they both need. As a former volunteer firefighter and EMT, I know that we cannot play political games with the needs of our first responders. We did not let DC gridlock slow us down. The Fire Grants and Safety Act passed the House with a 92% vote and with 88% in the Senate. We worked across the aisle and found common ground. We delivered big results that will change lives for the better.”
