🌱 Durum wheat is more than a staple in Tunisia; it's a cultural cornerstone. As part of the Mediterranean basin, this crop thrives in varied climates, contributing to food security and socio-economic stability. Under the African Plant Nutrition Research Fund, the APNRF-Tunisia Wheat project leverages precision agriculture to enhance nitrogen management, crucial for maximizing yields and maintaining grain quality. 🤜 Through satellite and proximal sensing technologies, we’re empowering Tunisian farmers with tools like CropSAT for optimal nitrogen use. This innovative approach not only boosts productivity but also minimizes environmental impact. Mouna Mechri #DurumWheat #PrecisionAgriculture #SustainableFarming

👉 APNI's 4R Nutrient Stewardship training in Mwea, Kenya, is empowering rice farmers to enhance crop productivity while safeguarding the environment. In collaboration with IFDC and MRGM, nearly 200 farmers and extension agents learned to apply nutrients using the Right Source, Rate, Time, and Place, promoting efficient fertilizer use and higher yields. 🌱 📌 By adopting these 4R practices, farmers are improving their income and reducing environmental impact. This training represents a significant step towards sustainable rice farming in Kenya, equipping farmers with innovative tools and knowledge to optimize their nutrient management and secure a prosperous agricultural future. #4RNutrientStewardship #SustainableFarming #RiceProduction

🌾 Project Update: At the NUTCAT Post-Harvest Stakeholder Workshop in Tamale, Ghana, experts gathered to assess our progress on improving maize productivity through precision nutrient management. The event showcased the success of optimized nutrient treatments over traditional farming practices, revealing significant yield improvements across several districts. 📈 👉 Despite promising results, we also identified financial and environmental challenges, such as limited access to inputs and erratic rainfall. Addressing these issues, along with enhancing farmer education and inclusivity, is crucial for sustainable agricultural development in the region. 🤜 Together, we’re committed to a resilient and prosperous future for Ghanaian agriculture. 🌍 #ghana #agriculture #agricultural #ghanaagriculture #maize #tamaleghana
