Created for a Japanese audience, NHK creates a lunch time show covering a wide range of stories, learning about people's lives, workplaces and the stories behind workers' daily meals. Recently, they visited our piano factory and created a lovely segment with a behind the scenes look at our factory and the team that work there. We had a lot of fun during filming, so why not take a look for yourself: https://shorturl.at/OXPvC #Piano #Workplace #Music

We first introduced the SV-100 SILENT Violin in 1997. Since then, an entire line of SILENT and electric string instruments have become a staple of orchestra classrooms, rehearsal rooms, performance venues and everything in-between. The SV-100 was a hit among Japanese violinists, but many other string players, while still appreciating the silent feature, opted to plug the instrument into amplifiers to see how loud they could make it. This demand for amplification led to the creation of the first Yamaha electric violin — the EV-204 (as well as a five-string version, the EV-205) — and soon a whole new class of instruments was born. Although they might seem similar, there are actually quite a few differences between the two types. Today’s versions of these instruments offer advanced technology to allow musicians to choose the best stringed instrument for their playing needs. Which one would you choose? https://yamaha.io/4f9KOes #Instrument #Innovation #Music

At Yamaha, quality control means way more than simply checking finished products for defects. Everything from how a guitar copes in extremes of hot and cold, to how the strap pins hold up when a guitar is dropped is thoroughly and systematically checked from the first moment a new guitar is envisioned, to make sure that the guitar in your hands can handle everything you throw at it, day after day, night after night. All of this means that we have a rigorous step-by-step process to ensure that we can create quality that lasts. Which step do you think is most important? https://yamaha.io/49xz6GH #Quality #Instrument #Music

Back when Yamaha products such as the DX7 synthesizer and SPX90 multi-effect unit were at the peak of their popularity, we were busy developing and manufacturing an LSI Processor for Digital Signal Processing. Whilst this was originally intended for use in Electones, it also showed promise for digital mixing applications. That LSI provided the basis for Yamaha’s first digital mixer, the DMP7. Since the DMP7 was first created in 1987, we have continued to innovate with our digital mixers all the way up until today. We take a trip down memory lane to highlight the past 37 years of our digital mixing evolution. Which model has been your favourite? https://yamaha.io/3Yafvu9 #History #Innovation #Technology

The Oto-Machi Project unites people through music, enlivening communities across Japan. Meanwhile, She's Got the Groove (SGG) empowers women in Mexico, fostering confidence through musical expression. The "Key" shared by these projects is their dedication to using music to build a more inclusive society. While Oto-Machi and SGG operate on opposite sides of the world, the members of both projects have reached similar conclusions about the power of music in fostering social good. Both projects' leaders acknowledge the relevance of social issues, even if they are not directly impacted by them, and collaborate in solidarity with the people they support. Their way of putting themselves in the shoes of others serves as a shining example of Yamaha’s full dedication to creating an inclusive society. https://yamaha.io/3VgRiPq #TheKey #Muisc #Inclusion

The piano has been central to the development of jazz since the early days of ragtime up to modern times. Highly responsive and able to play multiple notes at the same time, it’s an instrument that encompasses all the elements of music: melody, harmony, rhythm, texture and dynamics. We have created a list that presents seven of the most influential and exciting jazz piano solos ever recorded. Of course, no list of this type can encompass all the great players who are masters of the keys, but each of these artists has provided listeners with dozens if not hundreds of stunning performances over the course of their long careers. Which solos do you feel we have missed? https://shorturl.at/YNzDt #Jazz #Music #History

The birth of the first Yamaha drum was over half a century ago, with the D20 and D30 first being produced at our Niitsu factory in Hamamatsu, Japan. Since then the list of new products and innovations has continued to grow, but we have always maintained that essence of what it means to be Yamaha. Take a walk down memory lane as we take you through a timeline of the history of Yamaha drums, all the way back to 1967.
