The Position:

We are looking for an experienced, smooth talking, battle tested, B2B advertising sales professional with a proven track record of closing and meeting goals, to lead our growing newspaper print, digital and regional magazine advertising sales. The position comes with a substantial book of business and development potential through a robust CRM. Align your talents with our team and work in a meaningful, adrenaline driven industry, with a small local company that makes a local free press and fact-based reporting available in Ventura County.

Role & Responsibilities:

In addition to increasing business beyond established accounts within an existing book of business, the ideal candidate must be eager to meet with prospective clients in person by phone, Zoom, email and agencies to present and close new business.

Generate leads, maintain relationships, create sales campaigns for print and digital advertising campaigns, write proposals and develop event sponsorships.

Daily responsibilities include prospecting new advertisers throughout West Ventura County. Reaching out in person, by phone, email and through social media channels. Make sales presentations (in-person and over mediums such as Zoom), writing sales proposals, account management of clients, and networking at various business events.

Drive revenue through a consultative sales approach and create valuable partnerships within the Ventura County business community.

Participate in company and community outreach marketing events.

Follow social media, and read our publications for lead generation.

Deliver quality service to accounts, process ads, work with our graphics department, and collect advertising accounts and attend to aging accounts.

Grow a substantial book of business by meeting growth sales goals.

Attend in person Ojai office weekly sales meeting

Work with and maintain the company CRM

Qualifications & Skills:

The right west Ventura County candidate is a highly motivated, independent worker, who can work well on a team, who can grow strong business relationships in person, by phone and in writing.

· Media sales or advertising sales experience preferred, with ability to meet and exceed sales goals

· Strong interpersonal and written communication, computer, spreadsheet and, social media literate.

· Strong sense of priority, ability to shift to different projects and manage time effectively and on deadline.

· Excellent collaboration skills, creative thinker, with the flexibility to work on both team-based projects as well as independent projects.

Compensation:

This position is commission based and oversees a well established book of existing clientele and with a guaranteed minimum base and paid training. The employment benefits include time off and 401k with employer match.
