Medscape's Global Editorial Team is seeking an English market news editor. A newly created position, this role would support our English Editorial Market Lead with news production geared toward healthcare professionals in Europe and the UK across the two English-language Medscape Professional Network websites (medscape.com and medscape.co.uk). The ideal candidate would be based in the UK or Europe.
News Editor Responsibilities:
- Ensure high editorial standards are maintained for all content published on Medscape.com (Europe focus) and Medscape UK
- Develop topics for news coverage that are aligned with editorial strategy
- Assign coverage to freelance writers and edit as needed
- Produce UK clinical summaries using various editorial tools
- Work within approved news budgets for both Medscape.com and Medscape UK
- Fill in for the English market lead and global editor (Canada/translations) as needed
- Collaborate with the marketing team and other departments as needed on OUS English market campaigns
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and/or at least 3 years of experience in medical journalism or related field
- Native or fluent speaker, writer, and editor of English
- Familiarity with the health care system, government, and culture of the market (Europe/UK)
- Detail oriented, organized, and comfortable with working in a fast-paced remote or hybrid environment
- Based in Europe or UK
