Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Machine
Operator to join the Data Center Power & Control Division in Farmingdale,
NY. This role is a skilled position responsible for operating an AMADA
press brake during our second shift – from 3:30pm to Midnight.

What Will You Do?
- You will operate the press brake
machine to shape sheet metal and inspect the resulting product - Perform brake
operations on AMADA style brake machinery - Read and interpret
mechanical drawings or fabrication prints to determine the measurements
and operate the press brake to cut and bend materials into shapes - Use Safety
precautions and adhere to all company safety regulations - Perform “in-process”
inspections to prove dimensional tolerance and document it. - Perform preventative
maintenance on assigned brake press equipment. - Complete assigned
work within given timeframe and according to specifications. - Inform supervisor of
any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem. - Follow instructions
as provided by supervisor. - Maintain cleanliness
and organization of assigned work area. - Other duties as
assigned.
What you bring?
- High School diploma or equivalent
is required. - A minimum of a year of experience
in machine operation in a manufacturing environment is required. - Sheet metal precision press brake
operation experience is preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret
blueprints or mechanical drawings - Knowledge or willingness to learn
how to operate AMADA style Brake machinery or AMADA ASTRO robotic brake
machinery. - Ability to operate machines
safely and properly. - Familiarity with shop equipment
such as table, panel and chop saws and kick and drill presses. - Ability to work overtime when
required. - Ability to arrive promptly for
shift and stand and/or walk for duration of shift is required. - Ability to hear, speak, kneel,
bend and use a step ladder or stool is required. - Ability to lift 45 pounds is
required. - Ability to work in a
manufacturing environment is required.
