New Survey Results on Climate Change 🌱🌳 Beliefs surrounding global warming are consistent across all age groups, however globally, those in MENA countries are far more likely to believe industries are behind climate change at 45%, whereas only 26% of people in APAC blame industries, identifying people’s behaviours as the main cause (49%). Natural phenomena are widely dismissed across the majority of the world with the exception of countries within Africa where 37% of those surveyed reported believing that the planet was changing naturally. The latest data also shows that salary perception has changed in the last couple of years. In 2022, 21% of women in the UK thought that their salaries were lower than men’s; this number has now increased to 34%. Our Annual Conference in Bali was a great success! We heard from some external speakers in the field of advertising and AI software development, on how AI was being used in these fields to help create now ways of working, and complete tasks that would nt be possible otherwise. Merlee Jayme, The Misfits Camp, showed examples of how advertisers had used AI to develop very personalised campaigns, that simply wouldn’t be possible before. Kathleen Yu at Nudgyt PTE, had an interesting presentation using AI to create AI colleagues that can be built to answer questions having been trained in how humans react with real life heuristics. We learnt about how WIN members were utilising AI to help in the research process, with Produkt & Markt building an interactive AI platform to give to client to be able to interrogate large data studies, or a number of studies, and ask questions of those studies to extract more insights, while PRS Invivo (part of BVA) showcased how they were using AI to measure pack standout on shelves. It isn't great coverage of men though, with 68% found to think that gender equality in the workplace is now sorted. Think we need to recognise that there is more to do. As Vilma Scarpino, the previous president of WIN, says in the article, “The strong divide in perceptions between men and women signals a deep disconnect and lack of conversation around this topic, which should be addressed by individual organisations and the government alike.” https://lnkd.in/eCxMHum4
