Loacker fu fondata 90 anni fa, nel 1925, da Alfons Loacker e in principio non era che una piccola pasticceria nel cuore di Bolzano. Da allora, la società si è trasformata in un'azienda di livello mondiale attiva sul mercato internazionale. 🌾At Loacker, we believe that every ingredient matters. Wheat flour, a key component in our delicious wafers, is no exception. That’s why we’ve launched a pilot project to create a sustainable supply chain for this essential raw material. 🌿 Together with Haberfellner Mühle GmbH mill, one of our historical supplier, we’ve developed an agronomic protocol that guides our practices. Haberfellner works directly with selected farmers to ensure adherence to this protocol. 👨🏻🌾👩🏻🌾Farmers minimize nitrogen fertilization to achieve the low protein percentage required for wafer wheat flour. But it doesn’t stop there: we’re committed to preserving European landscapes. As part of our project, 7% of a contract farmer’s total hectares must be allocated to biodiversity areas. These spaces become vital habitats for insects, birds, and small mammals. Glyphosate and neonicotinoids have no place in our sustainable supply chain. We encourage farmers to avoid these chemicals, safeguarding both soil fertility and biodiversity. Modern sowing techniques like no-till or strip till help prevent erosion. Our farmers are motivated to implement these practices, ensuring long-term soil health. 🌎 A Win-Win for Farmers and Nature: our supply chain contracts offer guaranteed prices, along with reward mechanisms and incentives. Farmers benefit from stable income, while our commitment to sustainability grows stronger. 🚀 Our Goal: by the end of 2024, we aim to meet 10% of our flour needs through this sustainable program. Since starting production in 1999, the site has been a beacon of innovation and steady growth. 🌟 The decision to build here was founded on factors that are vital for us: pure water, fresh air, a skilled workforce, and community support. These elements have been the bedrock of our success. 📈 From 70 employees to 400, and from 6,046 tons in 2000 to 23,229 tons in 2023, our growth trajectory speaks volumes.
