IRPLAST NOPP, NOPP+ and LOOPP films are all inserted in the ISCC PLUS certified supply chain (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification), which thanks to the Mass Balance approach, ensures identical properties compared to traditional fossil-based BOPP for printing and packaging machines, with complete food contact approval. Reduction of film thicknesses and weights, the design of specific layers for monomaterial solutions for complete recyclability, the introduction of renewable and chemically recycled raw materials, and the systematic reuse of internal waste to slash the CO2 emissions of the products represent key components of the Company business strategy. The use of alternative raw materials from renewable sources has enabled IRPLAST to provide customers with "carbon neutral" solutions which are immediately implementable, without having to change packaging standards, appearance or machinery installations. Irplast's sustainable innovation has enabled to produce matte, "no label look", and soft-touch labels, multipack solutions and handles for multipacks for glass bottles, all with a recycled or bio-based content of up to 84%, according to the mass balance approach. This important goal has been achieved by introducing "bio-circular" adhesives, which were obtained from production waste of organic origin (from wood processing) and ISCC PLUS certified, applied to BOPP film manufactured with raw materials derived from renewable sources, which are also ISCC PLUS certified. The same innovation applies to IRPLAST's GREENLINE of adhesive tapes - which ensures identical mechanical properties to traditional tape - made with NOPP, NOPP+ and LOOPP films and which guarantee 94% sustainable content (on a mass balance approach), thanks to raw materials from renewable sources and adhesives obtained from wood processing waste (both raw materials and adhesive are ISCC PLUS certified).

IRPLAST has been included for the second time in a row in the list of the top 100 Italian companies that have distinguished themselves for sustainability. The ranking was published as part of the 3rd edition of the Sustainability Award, promoted by Kon Group, specialists in business and financial consulting and by ELITE (Euronext Group), in partnership with Forbes Italia magazine. This achievement confirms the solidity of the path taken towards sustainability and strengthens IRPLAST’s competitive position amongst the most virtuous companies on the market. IRPLAST has chosen to make a concrete commitment to promoting a new way of doing business, combining the reduction of environmental impacts with the economic aspects. The Company has laid solid foundations for an ecological transition for the benefit of all players in the value chain. IRPLAST has chosen to promote sustainability through the circularity of both products and processes. The Company, in fact, through the R&D Departments, works constantly with the aim of rationalizing and enhancing the inputs entering the production cycle and maximizing the recyclability of the products. To this end, various solutions are being put in place starting from the design of products with less plastic material, passing through an optimization of single-material solutions, and leveraging a more recyclable and recoverable offering to the market. Furthermore, the Company is investing in the valorisation of manufacturing process waste, which, through mechanical upcycling, is reintroduced into the production cycle. Sustainability is a key business factor in IRPLAST's industrial strategy for growth. The Company is doubling its S-BOPP film production capacity thanks to a new Brückner LISIM line. A total of €50 million is currently being invested at IRPLAST’s Atessa factory in the central Abruzzo region. The increased packaging production capacity will be almost entirely dedicated to fully recyclable mono-material packaging, mandated by EU directives, aimed at helping the flexible packaging industry to reduce climate change.
