Conversations on Race and Equity (CORE)

Conversations on Race and Equity is a course comprised of a series of video lessons about race, equity, history, and other engaging topics. As an English teacher, you can play CORE video lessons to introduce new vocabulary and topics, and engage in meaningful conversations with your students.

CORE was developed in partnership with Common Good Collective, and centers around subjects that are sometimes avoided in English language classrooms, such as discrimination, culture, and racial justice. Our vision is that English learners will feel empowered to share their experiences and perspectives about these traditionally challenging topics.

Together, we will work to create cultural awareness and mutual respect, empower English learners with critical knowledge, and equip teachers to continue conversations where English learners are able to share and reflect meaningfully.

Our CORE materials (15 lessons worth of content, plus progress checks, and other materials) are currently available free of charge during our pilot phase. If you are interested in using these materials, you can gain access by completing the request at the link below.
