WELLINGTON, FL — Infranergy, a pioneering leader in clean energy technology, is thrilled to announce its selection as a recipient of the prestigious Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The grant will provide critical funding for the development of an innovative project titled “Virtual Power Plant utilization to Drive Energy Efficiency & Power Market Optimization for Multifamily Buildings,” furthering clean energy solutions and fostering impactful community partnerships.

The centerpiece of this transformative project is the Virtual Power Plant (VPP), a cutting-edge technology that harnesses the potential of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. By seamlessly integrating clean energy resources, the VPP is poised to drive energy efficiency and optimize power markets specifically tailored for multifamily buildings.

This groundbreaking advancement will significantly contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions and pave the way for a more sustainable future, while helping improve grid resilience by modulating energy demand and supply. The project builds on Infranergy’s track record developing, deploying and operating distributed solar + battery storage projects for commercial end-users, and leverages past experience in optimizing dispatchable energy resources for power trading and grid services.

In the spirit of collaboration and commitment to community development, Infranergy is proud to partner with California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) to propel this initiative forward. Together, we aim to create meaningful clean energy community partnering initiatives, focusing on empowering low- to moderate-income communities in the Carson area of Los Angeles county, California. These communities have historically endured the environmental impacts of pollutive refinery and fossil fuel activities, making the transition to clean energy sources and careers in the clean energy industry even more significant.

“Infranergy is honored to be awarded the DOE SBIR grant, which recognizes our dedication to advancing clean energy technology,” said Dr. Uche Isiugo, CEO & co-Founder. “Our Virtual Power Plant project holds immense potential to revolutionize energy efficiency, and our partnership with CSUDH will ensure that we positively impact the lives of those residing in the communities we serve. The DOE SBIR grant underscores Infranergy’s position as a driving force in the clean energy revolution. With this support, we are determined to accelerate the development of innovative clean energy solutions while fostering meaningful community partnerships for a greener and more sustainable future.”
