Congress’s Ummeda Ram Beniwal wins Barmer Lok Sabha elections 2024, defeats BJP and Independent candidates

Barmer Election Results 2024:Congress candidate Ummeda Ram Beniwal has won the Barmer Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, reversing the trend of the previous elections. Beniwal secured a substantial victory by defeating his nearest rival, independent candidate Ravindra Singh Bhati, by a margin of 1,18,176 votes.

Beniwal also defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Kailash Choudhary by a significant margin of 4,17,943 votes. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Beniwal secured 7,04,676 votes, while Bhati managed to garner 5,86,500 votes and Kailash Choudhary, the BJP candidate, secured 2,86,733 votes.

Rajasthan’s Barmer Lok Sabha constituency witnessed a triangular fight in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with Congress, BJP and independent candidate Ravindra Bhati in the fray. Bhati was pitted against the sitting BJP MP and Union minister Kailash Choudhary and Congress’s Ummeda Ram Beniwal.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP candidate Kailash Choudhary emerged victorious, defeating his nearest rival, Manvendra Singh of the Indian National Congress (INC), by a significant margin.
