Rohini, 18, a girl from the tribal community in the Pachamalai Hills of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, scripted history by becoming the first tribal girl from her district to crack the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) exams. According to news agency ANI, Rohini scored 73.8 per cent in the JEE Mains, securing admission to NIT Trichy.
The viral video shows Rohini’s village house, wherein she is seen cooking on the wood fire, and their farm. She credited her success to her school’s headmaster and teachers and also thanked Chief Minister M K Stalin for offering her to pay her fees.
“I am a student from a tribal community who studied in a tribal government school. I appeared in the JEE exam and secured 73.8 per cent. I have secured a seat in NIT Trichy and I opted for Chemical Engineering. The Tamil Nadu state government has come forward to pay all my fees, I thank the CM for helping me. I performed well because of my headmaster and the staff of my school,” she told ANI.

With 2,12,000 views, the video garnered several reactions as social media users lauded Rohini’s achievement. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “Pride of tamilnadu! Symbol of proud Bharatiya naari shakthi!” Another user commented, “Exceptional feat. My congratulations to her.”
