Jio and Airtel have raised mobile data tariffs in India across tiers, passing the costs to consumers, as major telcos are being squeezed by increasing costs and slowing subscriber growth. The new plans from Airtel and Jio are up to 25 per cent more expensive and will come into effect today. Meanwhile, Vi (Vodafone) plans to increase mobile tariffs from July 4.

Jio has four different plans with 84 days of validity. The most affordable plan costs Rs 479 (up from Rs 395) and offers 6GB of 4G data, along with unlimited calling. This plan does not include 5G benefits. Similarly, there is a Rs 799 (up from Rs 666) plan, which offers 1.5GB of 4G data per day, and this plan also does not include 5G benefits.
Jio’s Rs 859 (up from Rs 719) and Rs 1199 (up from Rs 999) plans, with 84 days of validity, offer 2GB/3GB of 4G data per day for the entire validity, along with access to unlimited 5G.

Airtel has three prepaid plans with 84 days of validity. The most affordable one costs Rs 509 (up from Rs 455) and offers 6GB of 4G data and unlimited calling. The second plan, priced at Rs 859 (up from Rs 719), offers 1.5GB of 4G data per day with unlimited calling, and both plans miss out on 5G access.
Lastly, Airtel’s third plan with 84 days of validity costs Rs 979 (up from Rs 839) and offers 2GB of 4G data per day, along with unlimited calling and 5G network access. This plan is best for those who consume a lot of mobile data.

Vi will also offer three different plans with 84 days of validity from July 4. The cheapest plan costs Rs 509 (up from Rs 459) and offers 6GB of 4G data, along with unlimited calling. The second plan costs Rs 859 (up from Rs 719) and includes benefits such as 1.5GB of 4G data a day. Finally, the most expensive quarterly plan from Vi costs Rs 979 (up from Rs 839).
Considering these plans, Jio offers the most affordable recharge plan, starting at Rs 479 with limited data. The three-month plans with unlimited 5G data access from Airtel and Jio are priced similarly, which can be a boon for those who use a lot of mobile data for downloading and uploading.
