Apple demoed many iOS 18 features at WWDC 2024. As developers and users continue their beta testing of the operating system, they seem to be discovering a lot more features on it.
Here are five such iOS 18 features that Apple didn’t talk about during the keynote:
With iOS 18, Apple introduces a new animation – the bezels appear to expand when pressing the volume or power button on iPhones, indicating the key press. It is another example of how Apple deeply integrates hardware and software for an elevated user experience.
Apple has revamped the phone app in iOS 18, adding T9 input for quick dialling from contacts and a search feature in the call log, addressing long-standing user requests for improved functionality.
With the iOS 18 update, iPhone users will be able to solve complex math equations directly in the Notes app by scribbling on the screen. iPadOS 18 will also introduce a similar feature to the calculator app.
iOS 18 introduces eye-tracking on iPhone, allowing users to operate their phones by tracking eye movements through the camera and sensors. This was announced ahead of WWDC and is now available on eligible iPhones. This feature is included in the Accessibility menu.

This feature is exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro (review) series. These two generations of iPhones have upgraded LED hardware and include more LEDs compared to the regular iPhones, which allows users to tweak the light output.
While these are some of the few new features introduced in iOS 18, there are many more features that we have highlighted in the top iOS 18 features story.
