After sharing his breakfast routine, former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram has now given a peek into what a typical gym day for him looks like. “My gym routine. No excuses,” Akram, 57, captioned the post.

Sharing that he had come to the gym after having a “light breakfast”, Akram, a diabetic, said he was all set for a “chest routine”. “I do 5-6 exercises with 3 sets in each,” he said in the video.

Why is a chest routine good for people with diabetes?

Compound exercises for the chest, like presses and flies, are beneficial to the heart. “Due to their increased risk of heart disease, people with diabetes must maintain good cardiac health. Frequent exercise lowers blood pressure, promotes heart health, and lowers the risk of cardiovascular problems,” said Spoorthi.
