The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has started the application process for direct recruitment for over 2000 posts. The application for Combined Civil Services Examination II will be available on the official website – tnpsc.gov.in
The TNPSC started accepting applications on June 20, and the last date for registration is July 19, along with fee payment. This year, the preliminary exam is scheduled to be conducted on September 14, starting at 9 am till 12.30 pm, whereas the main examination dates will be announced later after the prelims results declaration.
While filling up the application form, candidates must carefully check their minimum and maximum age criteria against each post as of June 1, 2024. As per the official notice, the application correction window will open on July 24 from 12: 01 am and close on July 26 at 11: 59 pm.
Candidates should possess adequate knowledge in Tamil to be eligible to appear for the exam, either passed SSLC, HSC, or degree examination in the Tamil language or studied them in Tamil medium. Additionally, they can appear and pass the second class language test (Full Test) in Tamil.
– Aspirants are requested to register themselves at the one-time registration portal available on the portal.
– Candidates must have their passport-size photograph and signature (up to 3 month old) renamed “Photograph.jpg” and “Signature.jpg”, handy.
– The application form registration fee is only Rs 150. The aspiring candidates are required to register for the separate examination, they intend to appear.
– Applicant’s Aadhaar must be registered with their mobile number provided for one time registration.
The one-time registration is valid for 5 years from the date of registration; it generally collects the candidate’s information and provides a separate dashboard for exam registration.
The test will comprises of total 200 questions for a duration for 3 hours. The question paper will comprise of three sections — general studies of 75 question, aptitude and mental ability (25 questions at the SSLC standard) and either General English or general Tamil (100 questions of SSLC standard – choose one)
The exam is of total 300 maximum marks, while the candidates must secure at least 90 marks to qualify the exam.
