MVA leaders meet to discuss Assembly polls, hold joint rally in Mumbai on July 14

Stepping up the preparations for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Maha Vikas Aghadi, which is riding high on its success in the recently held Lok Sabha elections, has decided to hold a joint rally in Mumbai on July 14 to give the message to workers of all three parties that the upcoming polls will be fought together.

The first meeting of the MVA was held in presence of NCP – SP chief Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena – UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole and other senior leaders at Y B Chavan Centre on Friday evening.

“This was the first meeting of the MVA and we discussed issues ranging from council elections to upcoming assembly polls,” said senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.

According to another leader who was present at the meeting, an indoor meeting of office bearers of all three parties will be held on July 14. “This will give a clear message to workers of all three parties that the election will be fought together and difference, if any, will be solved,” the leader said.

The meeting also discussed about forming a manifesto and coordination committee for the assembly elections.

This was the first meeting of MVA after the Lok Sabha elections, where all senior leaders from the alliance were present.
