Mukul Roy stable, responding to treatment, says hospital

THE CONDITION of former Railway minister and veteran politician Mukul Roy, who was admitted to a hospital last Thursday, after he fell down at his residence, is stable, doctors said on Sunday.

Roy is admitted in the Intensive Therapy Unit and if his health further improves then he will be shifted to a cabin. However, he is still with oxygen support, said an official at the hospital. “He is stable. He is showing signs of improvement,” said an official of the hospital.

On Saturday, Roy’s son Subhrangshu told mediapersons that his father is responding to treatment. Roy is one of the founding members of the TMC, which was floated after party chairperson Mamata Banerjee decided to break away from the Congress in 1998.

He joined BJP in 2017, later returned to TMC.
