People or organisations will no longer have to run to different departments to seek approval before organising public amusement activities, such as Ramlila, plays or concerts, in Delhi.

A new unified online and single-window portal has been launched to obtain licences and No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) from various departments, including fire services, traffic police and civic bodies, to make the process simpler for applicants.

The Unified Portal for Amusement Activities was launched by L-G V K Saxena Monday. Under the Ministry of Home Affairs, this initiative seeks to minimise the involvement of middlemen and reduce the time required to obtain licences for businesses, said officials.

Through this portal, establishments such as auditoriums, amusement parks, and gaming parlours can now get licences online that will need renewal every three years, compared to the previous annual renewal requirement.

“This will make the process easier, especially during Ramlila,” said MCD Commissioner Ashwani Kumar during the event held at the NDMC convention centre.

Festive offer

The L-G said the digital transformation is a significant leap forward in augmenting “ease-of-doing-business” in accordance with the Prime Minister’s vision.

Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar said the portal would go a long way in improving delivery of services in the Capital.
