7-year-old dies after being beaten up by mother’s live-in partner in Gurgaon; 1 held

The child’s death came to light after the children’s paternal grandfather received a call from their mother on Sunday night. She alleged that Chaudhary had brutally assaulted her younger child while she was not at home. “The mother rushed both children to Sector 10’s Civil Hospital where the younger child was declared dead. The nine-year-old victim was treated and is now stable. Both had sustained injuries all over their bodies,” a police official said.

The children’s grandfather, in his report to the police, said that his son had passed away in 2023. According to the police, the mother had been in touch with Chaudhary for the last two years but had only started living with him in the last few months.

A case against Chaudhary was filed under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 103 (murder) and 115 (causing hurt). During interrogation, Chaudhary allegedly confessed to hitting the children when their mother was not present at home
