After winning Junagadh Lok Sabha seat for the third consecutive time, BJP MP Rajesh Chudasama had allegedly told a gathering on June 19 that “whether BJP does hisab (settle scores) or not”, he is not going to spare those who have bothered him over the last five years.
Following this, Rakesh Devani, a builder and a local BJP worker in Veraval town in Gir Somnath — which is part of the Junagadh Lok Sabha constituency — had filed an application with the police, fearing that Chudasama’s remarks were directed at him, since he had made a public appeal not to vote for Chudasama in the elections.
However, at a Congress meeting in Gir Somnath on Monday, senior party leader Punja Vansh suggested that Chudasama’s remarks were directed at him and that he was ready for “hisab of any sort” at a time and place of the BJP MP’s choice.
