Gujarat FDI inflow’s sees 55% jump in FY 2023-24

Gujarat has consistently grown in attracting FDI for three consecutive financial years by securing investments of $2.7 billion in FY2022, $4.7 billion in FY2023 and $7.3 billion in FY2024.

Gujarat registered a 55 per cent ($ 2.6 billion) increase in the FDI inflow during the fiscal year 2023-24 over FY 2022-23, according to data released by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

It received $7.3 billion in FY 2023-24 as compared to the $4.7 billion received in FY 2022-23. With an FDI inflow of $7.3 billion, Gujarat overtook Karnataka and Delhi to reach the second spot in the country.

Gujarat has consistently grown in attracting FDI for three consecutive financial years by securing investments of $2.7 billion in FY2022, $4.7 billion in FY2023 and $7.3 billion in FY2024.

Speaking about the performance of Gujarat in attracting FDI inflow, Gujarat Minister of Industries and Mines Balvantsinh Rajput said, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel is ensuring that every possible mechanism that facilitates investment and business is in place ranging from state-of-the-art industrial infrastructure to business-friendly government policies. Due to the dedicated efforts of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, Gujarat, is also attracting significant investment in emerging industries like semiconductors and other promising sectors.”

With a total FDI inflow of $15.1 billion in 2024, Maharashtra tops the chart followed by Gujarat with $7.3 billion. Karnataka  came in third, Delhi fourth and Telangana fifth with FDI inflows of $6.6 billion, $6.5 billion and $3 billion, respectively.
