"They are bona fide underdogs in the tournament. However, in the qualifying campaign earlier this year when there were teams like hosts Zimbabwe and West Indies, the Dutch overtook both sides and qualified along with Sri Lanka. They showed grit and spirit throughout the campaign and will try to do the same in India. Though there are not many star names that stand out, it is their performance as a collective which makes them stronger.
Vikramjit Singh at the top of the order has become a reliable batsman. In the middle order, skipper Scott Edwards’ ability to play spin and provide the finishing impetus for the side will be invaluable in the campaign. Logan van Beek has become popular after that famous Super Over against the West Indies in the qualifying tournament. However, he is lethal with the new ball as well.
If these players can perform to their full potential, the Dutch can have a decent run in the tournament."
