Sally Fields has low key been America’s sweetheart for decades, but she says that in the 1970s she wasn’t exactly feeling the love from people even though she garnered critical acclaim for her role in Sybil. While speaking with Oprah, Fields said that she took the role in Smokey and the Bandit because she thought it would help people realize her full potential: Burt Reynolds called me up personally.
