This role will be based in Bangalore, India.
As an enterprising Engineering Manager in the Compute Infrastructure org, you will lead a team of engineers and play a crucial role in our ongoing efforts to re-architect our Compute Infrastructure stack. The ideal candidate will be excited to work with engineering partners across the company to develop seamless Compute fleet interaction experiences for multiple personas. We are looking for experienced professionals who have a proven track record of developing backend APIs, clean and intuitive web interfaces, scaling apps for performance and reliability, leading teams and driving consensus.
Responsibilities: - Own the design, development, testing, deployment and craftsmanship of your team's infrastructure and systems, capable of handling massive numbers of requests with high reliability and scalability - Work with technical leaders and senior management to develop and execute on a long-term technology roadmap for Compute Infrastructure at LinkedIn - Leverage your deep and broad technical expertise to mentor engineers and provide leadership on resolving complex technical issues - Manage the performance and career development of a team of engineers - Work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of relevant engineering work experience, of which, 2+ years of hands-on technical management experience - 6+ years of hands-on experience programming and designing software in Go / Java / C++ / Python - Full-stack software engineering experience, including development of APIs with GraphQL, architecting and building single-page applications and writing clean JavaScript in frameworks like React/Angular - Actively coached, mentored and grew team members in their careers
Preferred Qualifications: - 3+ years of management experience in building small to medium-sized teams, demonstrating growth and a track record of successful deliveries with high quality - Masters degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline - Experience in the design and development of performant, highly available and scalable web applications - Shipped several large-scale projects with dependencies across multiple teams - Been actively involved in creation and execution of technical strategy and roadmap - Track record in partnering with recruiting to hire and build incredible engineering teams - Experience developing fleet management platforms to intuitively interact with a massive fleet (100k+) of servers and applications
