Position Summary...

Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Team and Position Summary:

About Platform Team.

This role is on our Platform team, the engine that fuels all the feature teams. Their goal is to define architecture for the application and make sure the feature teams abide to the architecture. This team also helps the feature team with various code components. This team provides APIs for all the Walmart integrated services.

What You’ll Do…

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Manager of Software Engineering with a strong background in e-commerce for our retail business. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a proven track record of managing software development teams and delivering high-quality software solutions.

Job Description

Manage, lead, and mentor a team of software engineers in designing and building cutting-edge e-commerce solutions. Develop and oversee the execution of long-term strategies for product development. Drive software development processes including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Oversee the technical design and architectural decisions for the team. Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders within the company to understand the goals and objectives of the product. Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms for delivering the company’s services. Ensure the software engineering team delivers on time, high-quality software that meets business needs. Oversight of technological, architectural and design decisions, and ensuring these decisions are implemented in a timely manner. Lead and manage the front-end development team in designing, developing, and implementing mobile and web applications. Oversee all aspects of Full stack development including Mobile and or Web front end and Java and/or Node.js backend development Develop high-quality, reusable, and scalable code. Provide technical leadership on Graph QL and Java/Node JS technologies 14. Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure the technical feasibility of designs. Maintain and improve the performance of existing software. Promote and implement best practices in front-end development. Coach and mentor team members in their professional development. Collaborate with backend developers to integrate frontend layer with backend APIs. Ensure all front-end projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in front-end development.

Position Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering Minimum of 12 years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of managing and delivering large scale projects. Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience with Agile development methodologies. Strong coding skills in languages such as Java, C++, or other object-oriented languages. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. Ability to collaborate with different teams and stakeholders. Proven experience in delivering Front end and Backend features. Good working knowledge of Android/iOS or Web and Java/ Node JS along with GraphQL. Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically. Prior experience in an e-commerce retail environment is highly desirable. Good familarity with E2E automation and Operational metrics.

Compliance: Ensure all software development activities are compliant with the regulatory standards and best practices. Performance Evaluation: Conduct performance evaluations of team members and provide constructive feedback on their work. Stakeholder Management: Regularly communicate with stakeholders on project updates and ensure their expectations are met. Crisis Management: Lead the team during system failures or bugs and ensure swift resolutions 10. Project Documentation: Oversee the creation of comprehensive project documentation including system architecture, API design, etc. Collaboration: Work closely with other teams to ensure the software meets their needs and contributes to overall business objectives.
