Breaks down problems into smaller parts CBT breaks down problems into five main areas - situations, emotions, physical feelings, and actions. these areas are interconnected and influence each other. 3. Develops strategies With CBT you learn techniques to stop negative thought and develop more constructive ways of thinking this includes upsetting thoughts, unhelpful behaviours 4. Focuses on the present It primarily focuses on current thoughts, and behaviours that are impacting your life now, not past experiences, this allows you to make more immediate progress. 5. 🌳 Holistic Integration and Reclaiming Personal Power 🌳 The journey of reclaiming our power is a process of reintegrating. Becoming whole. But why is it necessary to become whole? How do we fragment? The key: suppressed emotion and unconscious story. We have all had situations where we went through something that hurt, for whatever reason. And if it hurts bad enough, if we are not able to deal with it, we push it down. We suppress it, where it hangs out in the subconscious until we have an opportunity to return to it. * Suppressed emotions lead to cores of unprocessed emotion and story in the subconscious. Since they are subconscious, we do not see the influence they have upon our perception. But these subconscious emotions still color the things we see and the meaning we find in them. The first takeaway from this is that our perception is not an accurate account of the world, in some way apart from our personal relationship with it. We will tend to see things in the world that reflect our subconscious charge. This is like a fixed configuration of energy hanging out in our field, influencing our perception. Like a muscle that’s been tensed so long we forgot the body could feel otherwise. * The key here is to begin a process of shadow work. Shadow work means looking at the outer world to diagnose the inner. We cannot see what is unconscious to us, but we will see it in the world around us. Every time we are triggered, we have an opportunity to hold space and process the emotion. To shine a bit of light onto a blind spot. We can notice our triggers and use them as opportunities to connect with the charge we’ve been carrying within. We can practice the art of introspection, looking inward in a focused, intentional way, processing what we find there. * This helps us reconnected with cores of energy and consciousness that have formed into subprograms, locked away from conscious access. When we bring the energy of these fragments of consciousness back into the fold, our own awareness grows, and our perception becomes clearer. We see more of the world around us. * Shadow work is never done. The human mind is amazing and layered. On some level, we have meticulously created the situation that we inhabit at this very moment. Whether you are happy with your situation or not, you have contributed subconsciously to just this experience, exactly as it is. Through our emotions and our story filters, we align with one expression of the world out of the infinite ways we could experience the moment. * We are incredibly powerful. But the greatest power we have is carried within the subconscious. In bringing the conscious and subconscious together, we reclaim freedom and power and make space to create a life of intention. Integrating these subconscious cores of emotion and story is healing, becoming whole, a little at a time. The more that we become whole, the more that we reflect the pure power and balanced love of Source.
