Copy writing vs Content writing 🔥 The biggest confusion among us is about content writing and copy writing. Are these 2 the same? If not the same then what is the difference? Let's try to understand a little today. ✅ Content writing - This is basically writing about something, like we write blog, write web content, these are basically content writing. The main goal of content writing is to pass information. . There is no specific length that must be within. It can be big or small. ✅ Copy writing - This is basically writing for sales. It means that people will convert for sale after reading your writing. The main goal of copy writing is to generate sales. It cannot be written too big. Must be specific, audience oriented. This is one of the most important SOPs I've in my content writing guidelines. It’s about setting the hierarchy of questions asked in the content. Questions might be of different types i.e representative questions and represented questions. Representative questions would be considered broad questions, and represented would be those who come under a broad one. Take an example of the following representative question: 👉 How to do exercise? And the represented questions for that representative one would be: 👉 How to do exercise for beginners? 👉 How to do exercise for women? 👉 How to do exercise for men? 👉 How to do exercise for kids? 👉 How to do exercise for weight loss? 👉 How to do exercise for weight gain? Now obviously, you wouldn’t write each represented question in your article. But, the decision for the selection of the represented question would come from: 🌅 Queries 🌅 Source Context (A concept from Koray Tugberk GUBUR's framework) 🌅 Consensus 🌅 Contextual vector and contextual hierarchy 🌅 Macro context 🌅 And micro context of the document. The reason for processing the questions in that specific order in the content is to help search engines better understand the structure of the information. ⛳️ The more your document structure is organized and easy to understand for search engines, the higher the chances for better rankings for the document of your source.

Top 3 most common mistakes that freelance content writers make that could cost you money and clients: 1. Ghosting your clients/managers If you start communicating with a client or a manager and it takes you days to reply to a message, or even worse — you don't update your client on the writing process, that's it — you've ruined your reputation. 2. Lying about using #AI It's totally fine to use AI for various purposes (it's even recommended in some cases), but if your manager or client asks you if you had used it — tell the truth. There is a reason why they are asking. 3. Overdelivering and overcharging If you are asked for 1500-words, don't write 2000+ and expect additional compensation, or you will soon be left without tasks. By overdelivering I mean producing more content for the sake of being paid more, and not actually bringing value.

Sometimes being “Just a Writer” isn’t enough…. You have to step up the writing game I’ll tell you WHY. (Sharing a Story)            ↓ A couple of months back I got an outbound lead (to write on Web3 Insights) The website + SEO was done quite naively (Were missing a lot of SEO) (I was hired as a writer, so, why enter someone else’s womb) I kept writing, writing and writing but the results were 0 In short, you can say content was hitting in (-)      (Frustrated as hell) (Discussed with the client and took the charge) So, I decided to wear my Content Strategist Cape and dig deeper to get to the root cause There were a ton of reasons: →Poorly done Technical SEO →Useless Theme →Invalid Breadcrumbs →Old Sitemaps →No favicon And couple more I learnt about each and everything in less than 8 hours….. Most of my audience knows me as a content writer. Some of them know me as a copywriter. But only few know me as a scientific writer. Scientific writer? Why? How? Well, the credit goes to my field of study, microbiology. So, I thought, it's a new week, Let me take my audience to the other side. Microbiology is all about working with living things. 🔬 Organisms that are invisible to the naked eye. 🔎 It involves working in a laboratory. It involves making sheets for growth readings. But how does that affect my thought process as a writer? For starters, Microbes teach you about growth and survival. They refuse to succumb to anything. No matter how adverse the conditions are, be it extreme temperature, high or low, the depths of the sea, they never refuse to grow. Instead they adapt to the conditions around them. I regularly check 10+ content drafts from freelance content writers. Sadly, many writers have yet to adopt and improve their content quality. If one tip I can share with all freelance writers (not the expert-level), that will be: 👉 Think of creating content that is hard to replicate for AI tools Some ways to think about this: - Go beyond just text-based content - content with only text doesn't work anymore - Do more research and focus on citations - Add a lot of screenshots and other visuals that implement your points  - Share a lot of examples - Share your real experiences or from experts or influencers on the topic from social media posts - I think it is also next to impossible to create a high-quality unique article on a topic that you don't have expertise or you have experience.

Dear Copywriter, I hate to break it to you but no matter how good your copy is, as long as it doesn't resonate with the target audience — it's not a good copy. So many copywriters fail to understand this, they tend to craft copy with big grammar here and there which will not drive sales but will drive your EGO! And If your EGO is more important than the sales, very good! But if your main goal is to drive sales make that sh*t easy to read! A 5th grader should be able to understand it! Copy is meant to drive sales but if you disagree with me then go be a f*cking POET. Honestly, I'm tired of seeing all this big grammar copy that ends up confusing the reader — instead of warming up your leads, you're confusing them, and then they run to the arms of your competition.🤦‍♂️ P.S. Addressing Multiple Problems in Your Copy Attract Customers? At the start of my copywriting career, I found myself stuck choosing one problem among all others whenever I wrote a copy… Each time, too many problems were floating in my head. I was wondering which problem might be effective to write in a copy… I had no clarity on a specific problem to choose from, so I ended up writing all the problems in one copy… The result? No one buys my client's product… Why? Because my offer was too good to be true… everybody thought that only one product couldn't be as good as solving all problems… Another bad effect of putting all problems in one copy is that it scares readers… For an effective strategy, I consulted John Caples. In his book, he stated that your sale copy should address only one problem at a time… And that problem should be the one that awakes your customer at night… The core problem he means. If addressed, it can solve all 90%of the problems of your customers… If you believe that there are two problems your customers are facing. And you think that both are equally important in any weightage… The simple solution is to write two copies targeting two different problems separately…  And never address two problems in one copy…

‘Good writing is rewriting.’ - Ernest Hemingway. 5 editing strategies to improve your writing: 1. Reverse editing Read your work backwards, sentence by sentence. This makes you think about each sentence on its own & not get caught up in the flow. Plus, it helps you catch any awkward phrasing, repetition, or grammar hiccups. Flip the script to polish your work. 2. Edit with your mouth Read your work out loud. Pay attention to places where you stumble, pause unnaturally, or run out of breath. These are likely areas that need revision. Writing that sounds good, reads good. 3. Vary sentence length Similar sentence length instantly bores your reader. Instead, mix up short, medium, and long sentences throughout your writing. Rhythmic sentences keep readers hooked. 4. Eliminate redundancies They make your writing weak and boring. Remove repetitive words, phrases, or ideas from your writing. Ask yourself if each sentence adds new value. Every word should earn its place. 5. Sleep on it Let your writing rest for 12-24 hours before final edits. Taking a break from work helps you see it in a new light. And it also helps find areas to improve that otherwise would’ve gone unnoticed. Why “less is more” for a writer? This question always intrigued me in various way. So the answers are intriguing in its own way too. I feel, a writer must keep minimal distraction to focus on their writing. You see, writing is a very creative process just like painting, cooking, music composing and so on. So, a little distraction could cause a death to the writer’s process. Nowadays, many companies and marketing professionals think AI is a great platform to get good content. Hence, whoever is approaching me, checking my work on AI platforms to check my work if it’s AI proof. I don’t trust AI yet. Music helps me to stay focused. I mostly listen to my favourite songs. The regular and familiar songs which doesn’t require my attention, only the beats is required. Write less yet to the point so the meaning will be intact and the room for error will be thin. Generally, when we write more, the error is more too. Nowadays, mostly readers skim your content. Therefore, writing the valuable points with logical reasoning is absolutely mandatory. “Less is more” is also about managing one thing at a time. Earlier, I was one of them who enjoyed doing multitasking. But I realised lately it was consuming my mental bandwidth even more. So, I settled on one task at a time. “Less in more” meaning leading to minimalism. Discarding unnecessary maximalism.
