Self-service adoption – the ultimate acid test for any IT organisation. After putting your heart and soul into rolling out the perfect tools and processes, not to mention all the time and IT dollars spent on it, more often than not its efforts are in vain as users continue to circumvent self-service altogether, thus defeating the whole purpose of a self-help facility.

After putting your heart and soul into rolling out the perfect tools and processes, not to mention all the time and IT dollars spent on it, more often than not its efforts are in vain as users continue to circumvent self-service altogether, thus defeating the whole purpose of a self-help facility.
Self-service is often the holy grail of a good service desk, and just like a new product from a fledgling startup, it needs growth hacking to gain traction. Product adoption/usage makes or breaks a product, and in this case, self-service needs to be validated and accepted by users for it to be sustainable. Take cues from product marketing and growth hacking, and learn some of the tried and tested methods to increase self-service adoption.
