Pioneering Energy Efficiency: EESL Partners with APEPDCL We're thrilled to announce a landmark collaboration between Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) and Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL ) to promote energy efficiency and conservation. APEPDCL has become the first DISCOM in the country to join hands with EESL in an online retail partnership aimed at encouraging the adoption of energy-efficient appliances across DISCOMs. 🔗 [Read more about this collaboration] https://lnkd.in/gFHCrGcu Under the inspiring leadership of CMD APEPDCL, this initiative recognizes the potential of DISCOMs to socialize energy-efficient appliances, particularly relevant during the current times when extreme heatwaves in summers drive power demand surges. EESL is committed to providing APEPDCL with annual reports on their demand side management efforts through this measure, ensuring proper accounting of demand side management measures. Additionally, participating consumers will receive certificates, honoring them as ultimate climate warriors and acknowledging their contribution to reducing the carbon footprint. This partnership is just the beginning. EESL aims to extend similar collaborations with other DISCOMs and partner institutions across the country, bringing energy efficiency services to all consumers nationwide. Our calculations suggest that if only four basic EESL appliances are taken up by all countrymen, in a span of just three years, we would be able to treble the rate of energy efficiency. As we witness the transition from an absolute majority to a coalition government in India, there is a sense of both anticipation and hope in our Solar Industry. Over the past decade, our country has made remarkable strides in the solar energy sector, with initiatives like the PM Surya Ghar Yojana playing a pivotal role in transforming residential solar adoption. This program has not only made solar energy more accessible to households but has also set a strong foundation for sustainable growth, contributing significantly to our renewable energy goals and reducing our carbon footprint. The program has just started gaining momentum before the elections. As we move forward under the new coalition government, it is crucial that the momentum built over the last ten years is maintained. We hope that budget of the government, like the amount allocated towards subsidy for solar rooftop projects or PLI in solar panels or batteries does not move towards more populist schemes and freebies. This is just an introduction to one more conceptualization towards an Open Network. We have been working constantly on building various network-based systems for global communication layers in various industries. Started in India, and even beyond in the world in various sectors Open Networks are a standardised but decentralised way of building. Where standardisation comes into play when we need to build policies, trust layer, regulations, and use data democratically but efficiently, setting up better regulations. Decentralisation plays a role towards building easy-to-use tools and application layers for end users, data collection, and much more. OWPP is a concept of building an open network for cross border payments, central identity systems, central fraud detection and credit/payability rating systems and much more. It's just an initial concept doc, what would be soon into the R&D and implementability phase. National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) has already started on this by setting up #UPI in India. Looking for individuals and organisations who are passionate to lay something down onto this, and set up a network of people towards ideating and laying this down. This is just one more Open Network concept into building. Also looking for investors who will to put money into such R&D and implementations, organisations who can control these systems. A lot is yet to come, this is just a beginning, finally getting full time into building these infrastructural layers at various concepts, with ONTE and an incubator towards R&D, Ops, and Implementations onto these. Picture an India where harnessing energy efficiently isn't just a choice but more of a societal norm. Imagine a landscape where every Indian proudly leads the charge in curbing electricity consumption, all while enhancing their quality of life through the adoption of home appliances that redefine convenience. Envision an India where each individual embodies the spirit of 'Urja Dakshta Veer'. Energy efficiency often takes a backstage in our daily routines. It's ironic how, amidst our bustling lives, we overlook the impact our actions have on the planet. At the same time, unknowingly, many of our endeavors contribute to combating climate change. While walking out leaving the Acs on have their adverse effects, our choices to buy expensive appliances that may incidentally be more efficient, we are helping the cause. The responsibility doesn't solely rest on individuals; it's a collective challenge. In today's fast-paced world, staying present and self-aware is a struggle. Amidst the barrage of emails, social media notifications, and the allure of multitasking, mindful decision-making becomes elusive. It's a daunting task to be conscious of the consequences of our choices in real-time. If we struggle to prioritize health over indulgent street food, how can we expect ourselves to prioritize actions that may not impact us immediately but affect future generations detrimentally? Heavily discounting the future is a human tenet, and when that discounting is applied on adverse effects on someone other than us (read, future generations), the discounting rate only increases. This inherent human trait militates against the concept of total cost of ownership. Often, our decisions regarding comfort appliances prioritize upfront costs over long-term operational savings. However, there are lessons to be learned from brands that prioritize efficiency over flashy features, maintaining their appeal despite market trends. Take for example, a specific car brand that still maintains their USP of higher mileage (lower operational costs) at a time when the market is flooded with a high volume of feature-loaded cars that perhaps, on a broader scale, are not focussed on fuel efficiency as their driving Sales parameter. It gives confidence when minimalism, as a thought process, is gaining momentum. Similarly, in an era dominated by consumerism, environmental consciousness is gradually gaining traction, particularly among the youth. As this awareness permeates society, inch by inch, it moves closer to becoming the norm. It's only a matter of time before energy efficiency takes center stage. We are now at a time where sustainability can’t just be a buzzword but has to become a way of life. Together, we can steer India towards a brighter, more energy-efficient future.
