“This recommendation is high overdue. I first met Gopal early into my career joining LinkedIn in 2019 when I reached out to hear more about Lite and LinkedIn's mobile web strategy due to my interest in mobile web, after hearing he was the architect of Lite (the super fast lightweight mobile web app built by the LinkedIn team in India). Despite holding a number of notable responsibilities (there have definitely been times when I felt like his name would consistently eventually come up in any conversations with the team in India), he was gracious with my questions and always happy to talk in-depth. I remember meeting him in person for the first time when he visited HQ and we had a series of fascinating meetings talking about all things related to web and web at LinkedIn. More than just getting the space to honestly express my thoughts, I was able to hear his wisdom on various topics, and from there I was so honored that he agreed to mentor me even from afar in India! I've been so floored with how generous he's been with his time, despite the drastic time difference, and his other time constraints! I have learned so much from Gopal - more than just being incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in the web space, he thinks a lot about other dynamics that make up the picture of what it means to be an engineer, and to work at a company like LinkedIn. He's been happy to discuss any topic on my mind, and is even willing to have pair programming sessions with me when I feel stumped on something. His feedback is tangible and actionable, and I always tell him how much better I feel after a mentor session! There are a million more things I could say, but one of my favorite things about Gopal is the fact that despite knowing many things better than I do due to his experience - he has never once given me the feeling that he knows better than I do, and has always given me the space to talk through my thoughts and express my opinions, even if they happen to be different from his own. I don't ever feel like I need to pretend to know something I don't, or go along with his line of thinking just to be agreeable - he's open to hearing different perspectives and we can talk through topics feeling like we're actually working together towards a solution rather than him telling me what the answer is. He is honest with where he's struggled, where my thoughts remind him of his own, and never fails to bolster and provide support when I'm down on myself. I feel so incredibly lucky that I met Gopal in the first place, and that he's actually willing to continue working with me. Thank you, Gopal!!”

The Carousel is part of a family of widgets that allow you to "overload" a space on the page, providing more content for that space than fits within its dimensions while providing an easy, intuitive mechanism for the user to discover and navigate the additional content. Accordions, Tabs, Trees and ScrollViews are other examples of this genre.
