𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: 🌟 Strategic planning and mentoring by V2I are reshaping Anugrah to better meet the needs of those with disabilities, emphasizing skill development, empowerment, and community acceptance. 🏡 Anugrah's comprehensive approach includes in-home care, learning centers, a carpentry workshop for vocational training, and prosthetics and orthotics services, directly impacting over 120 families. 📚 The program is pivotal in training local community members, steering towards becoming a professional medical training institution in a province where an estimated 600,000 to 800,000 people suffer from disabilities with minimal care available. Couldn't agree more - and one of the ways this can be done is to make the MCA listing of qualified independent directors more meaningful - right now if is worse than the listing of a telephone directory - nothing expect the name and date of qualification. If it needs to serve its purpose of becoming the source for Companies (public or private) looking for qualified IDs to serve on their boards, it needs to be more informative with details of the experience and expertise of the qualified (listed) IDs.

Prof Azra Abidi HoD Sociology Jamia Millia Islamia presided over. Prof M K Agrawal former Head Population Research Centre Lucknow University was the discussant Prof Sanghmitra Acharya pointed out her studies confirmed exclusion & bias against Pasmandah communities in health care system Ansari made following points : 1- Expenditure on health in India was around 2.1 % of GDP , lower than that of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka , Pakistan & China . This needs to be raised to above 5% 2- Since 1991 economic liberalisation , Indian state encouraged private investment in health care but slowed down public investment. Private health care system based on profit motives provides little support to marginalised communities of ST-SCs , OBCs including Pasmandah communities & less developed regions . 3- Indian state invests less in areas populated by marginalised communities. It should earmark at least 27% of health budget as Soecial Component Plan for backward communities & their areas 4- In view of shortage of allopathic doctors , Govts should integrate AUUSH doctors in health care . It will be cheaper & fill up the gap in health care 5- There is a link between share in political power & health care & other social infrastructure. Research bodies should carry out objective studies on such embedded links & their impact on exclusion of marginalised communities

Excl: Deadline to freeze administrative boundaries not extended beyond June 30. Officials to The Hindu: discussion underway,no decision taken. Census last held in 2011, deadline extended 9 times since 2020. Could this mean Census is on the cards? The ambiguity has a direct impact on the dates of the next Census exercise that was last held in 2011. The deadline has been extended nine times since December 2020. A former Census official said an order for a “post-facto” extension could also be issued on a later date but if it was not extended it meant doors were open for the next Census exercise in the next three-six months. The Janata Dal (United), a key ally of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, has demanded caste census. The order on December 30, 2023 which extended the freezing of administrative boundaries by State governments till June 30, 2024 effectively pushed the decennial census exercise at least till October 1 as it usually takes three months to prepare the enumerators for the task. The implementation of the women’s reservation Act that was passed in a special session of the Parliament last year, which reserves 33% seats in Parliament and State Assemblies for women, is dependent on the conduct of the next Census. Budget 2024: BJP lost 53 rural constituencies in the 2024 elections. And yet there is no directional shift for its flagship programme for rural India, #MNREGA. The allotted budget is again less than last FY's expenditure. In fact, ₹41,500 crore has already been spent under the scheme in the first four months of this financial year, leaving a mere ₹44,500 crore for the remaining eight months.
