How do you build trust with your team?
The best way I have found to build trust is to discuss all major activities and deliverables with the team. - What should be done? - How should we do it? - How much time will it take? When a team jointly agrees on what needs to be done, nothing can stop that team.

How can you build strong relationships with peers in different departments?
No one likes being told what to do. Similarly, people love when asked for their opinions. When I was leading a P&L, we often had to work with tech team to build new features, marketing team to design new campaigns and CFO office to align on budgets. The best outcomes both from relationship and output perspective came when we started involving everyone at the brainstorming stage itself. If people have contributed their opinions early on, it is easier to get alignment with them later. Additionally, the answer tends to be much better when different perspectives are integrated.

How can you write a consulting report quickly and efficiently?
A good report starts with a good structure. When I had just started, I thought the structure just meant creating sections with Scope, Objectives, Approach & methodology, observations and results. Over time, I have realised that structure is about storylining - what is the key message you want to land through your report? Once you have that, write the key points for each of the sections. That’s when you have the structure and storyline in place.
