"Empowering the Future of STEM: A Dream Takes Flight!" We are beyond thrilled to announce that we have partnered with the Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology (UCOST) to launch the program Kalpana: She for STEM as a state partnership in Uttarakhand! This ambitious partnership aims to inspire, mentor, and provide quality career coaching and STEM skills to every aspiring girl in Uttarakhand. Our first phase will impact 2000 girls from 20 science and 6 engineering colleges. Over the next five years, we are determined to reach every girl in the state through innovative operational models and leveraging technology! We extend our deepest gratitude to the champions who are making this possible, particularly Prof. Durgesh Pant, Director General of UCOST, a visionary leading various initiatives to change the STEM landscape of Uttrakhand. Prof Pant and his dedicated team are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that girls in STEM from Uttarakhand are equipped to shape the future of science and technology and build a sustainable world with STEM. We are honoured that the program will be launched by the Honourable Governor of Uttarakhand Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) on the 10th of August 2024. Prof. Pant and Our team recently met the Honourable Governor, who graciously agreed to be the chief guest. Together, we are all determined to create a future where every girl in Uttarakhand can dream big in STEM. Thus, building a revolution that will not only boost Uttarakhand's socio-economic development, but also Foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship reaching the remotest communities of the state. On 16th July, the STEM champions from Uttarakhand had an exciting start at the SAGE Program, hosted by the Tata Institute for Genetics and Society, India in Bangalore. These first-generation learners are exposed to frontiers of knowledge and have the opportunity to explore the mosquito lab, learning about mosquito life cycles and reproduction 🦟. They also delved into rare genetic illnesses, which was truly fascinating. Later, they witnessed how crops can be improved using transgenic techniques 🌾. Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Director of TIGS, the Junior Ambassador of SAGE, and other mentors led an engaging discussion with the students about addressing issues in Bengaluru through collaboration 🤝. Thank you to Shannon Olsson and the echo network for facilitating this incredible experience. Our STEM champions are eager for the days ahead! #stem #womeninstem #science #technology #stemcareers #mentor #empower #uttarakhand #TIGS #womenempoweringwomen
