It was an eye opening experience for us to participate in the Nursing Conclave held in Kolkata recently. In our healthcare system nurses play a vital role and need industry support more than ever. Strassenburg hopes to support many more such educational sessions in the future. There is so much to learn from those who render these essential services!

Sometimes as we specialize in our own little slices of expertise, we forget just how much we are part of a larger whole. I was recently fortunate enough to be present at a 'Nursing Conclave' and left the event feeling so much richer. In healthcare (not just in India, but globally) we're all used to listening (almost exclusively) to physicians. So much so that almost no attention is paid to the wisdom of nursing staff - even though the time they spend at the patient's bedside is far more than most doctors. It was eye opening to see the clarity with which senior nurses assess the problems we face in hospitals, especially in critical care scenarios. Further, the element of philosophy is so strong in this community - it's not just a job for most who enter the field. Nursing as a career is seeing supply problems globally, and India too has a massive gap in the space. As an industry we must do more to support these superheroes and power the profession into a viable choice for young men and women. The future of our country depends on it.

It gives us great pleasure to have been able to participate in Criticare 2024 and present the strides we have made and observed in areas of Stress Ulcer Prophylaxis and the prevention of Nosocomial Pneumonia. In hospitals across the country today, the prevention of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia and fatal secondary infections in general is a subject of great concern. It fills us with pride to be able to contribute to these critical areas with our sucralfate products. We eagerly look forward to learning more from this community of lifesavers in India!
