The statistics are striking: India's elderly population is set to double to 20.8% by 2050 and number of dependents will exceed those who they depend on. But behind these numbers are countless personal stories – the worried daughter trying to balance her career with her mother's medical appointments, the son grappling with how to ensure his father's safety and dignity as dementia sets in. These aren't just personal struggles – they affect our entire workforce. The stress and time demands of caregiving can impact an employee's focus, productivity, and overall well-being. That's why it's heartening to see our country stepping up, moving beyond traditional benefits to offer holistic elder care support. At Samarth Care we are committed to making this a bit more easier and humane with our eldercare services. My thoughts on the same in The Economic Times recently. #eldercare, #123Manifesto, #HelloZindagi, #parentcare Brinda Sarkar, Sreeradha Basu Anuradha Das Mathur, Gaurav Agarwal, Sanjay Ahuja, Ankita Shirodariya, Manoj Kumar, Gaurav Gulati

Delighted to see the "1-2-3 Manifesto" for stakeholders in the senior space resonate with participants. Humbled to have several seniors walk up and share their enthusiasm. #123Manifesto

WHO WOULD I TRUST FOR MY OWN PARENTS’ CARE? Elder Care is not just about capabilities, it is equally about trust! It is not just about applying your mind and working with your hands, it is equally about putting your heart in it. When we talk about the elder care ecosystem of support with people, it’s sometimes difficult to articulate everything we do, and more so what our Care Counsellors, the managers cum companions, do. Our Care Counsellors are an extension of the children whose parents we look after. They embody the promise of care and commitment that we deeply believe in at Samarth and are “people like us”. Infact several of them are also our clients and we care for their parents living independently in a different city! One such care counsellor is Parul. A resident of Gurgaon who holds a postgraduate degree with a specialization in clinical psychology. She joined us a year ago & has quickly become an integral part of our Samarth family. Her gentle demeanour and patience, coupled with the ability to think and act just like a resourceful loving daughter would, have won the hearts of the elders and families she works with. She has transformed into a trusted confidant to many families, guiding them through their life challenges with empathy and wisdom. It takes a unique skill to be able to connect with people at this level and Parul’s ability to create that bond, and be the bridge between the elderly, the children and Samarth team is remarkable. Let's hear her experience as a Care Counsellor at Samarth.- https://lnkd.in/gVU3yKRN This is one of hundreds of stories, each giving a glimpse of who we are, and what we do. Our Care Counsellors and Care Leaders form the backbone of Samarth, and give us the strength to do what we do. #eldercare #healthcare #care #HelloZindagi #eldertech Asheesh Gupta Gaurav Agarwal Jeevanshu Soni Arihant Jain Akanksha Prakash Gulia Anuradha Das Mathur Sanjay Ahuja

Is this even possible?  Where will you find other people who think like you? In India, nothing can be trusted! How can someone send a stranger to their parents’ home? When we started Samarth in 2016 with a vision to build a sustainable eldercare ecosystem, we were constantly reminded of three challenges: very high trust deficit, scarcity of quality talent and extraordinary price sensitivity. While everyone liked our idea and our mission, to care for elders like sons and daughters, they did not give us much of a chance for being able to do this, much less at scale. But today, as I read this heartfelt message from a daughter in Zurich whose mother we cared for until her recent passing reminded me of why we persevered and started up in the first place “Dear Samarth family, I express my deepest gratitude for taking such good care of my mother. Living away, I would have been at a complete loss managing so many situations which you dealt with utmost care and professionalism. I truly owe you many nights of peaceful sleep!” Every message like this, and we get a steady stream of these, reaffirms our purpose. It's not about replacing family, but about extending the circle of care. So the children no longer wonder if they are doing enough for the parents, rather they can be proud that they are doing so much more, Not only in their times of need, but also in their times of joy. At Samarth we try to make their best efforts even bigger, and their biggest worries a little smaller. It's about ensuring that distance doesn't mean disconnection and retirement doesn't mean isolation. We've come a long way since 2016, but there’s miles to go. Elder care is a complex challenge to solve no doubt, and messages like these boost our conviction on the path we’re on! They remind us that what we're building isn't just a service, it's peace of mind for families separated by miles but united in love. To every family that has placed their trust in us, thank you. At Samarth, we are convinced that Eldercare is more about ecosystem solutions than point solutions! It was great to be inspired by perspectives and validations by eminent experts and stalwarts at the session organised by HelpAge India that saw participation from a whole range of stakeholders.

CREATING AN INCLUSIVE ELDERCARE ECOSYSTEM IN INDIA My belief is that India is an predominantly 'ageing at home' country where solutions need to: 1. Be centred around creating an ecosystem of support for elderly to age at home with comfort, safety and dignity 2. Address what I call the 1-2-3 of eldercare: addressing the 1 hope, 2 worries and 3 joys of elderly. These we have distilled with extensive research and field experience over nearly a decade 3. Appreciate that there is need for both 'Welfare-based' initiatives and 'Market-based' initiatives. This can help focus public, private and collaborative efforts to build a sustainable ecosystem. Ageing world presents the Challenge and well as the Opportunity of the century. The time for action is now! It was a privilege to share my thoughts and participate in the discussion organised by HelpAge India; get inspired by perspectives from Arun Maira, Pramod Bhasin, Kaushik Dutta, Kiran Karnik, Srinivas Tata; learn new insights from research on the sector unveiled by Anupama Datta of Helpage India; engage with other eminent panelists and speakers. Thankful to Rohit Prasad, Prateep Chakraborty and Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed of Helpage India for having me there. #HelloZindagi Anuradha Das Mathur, Gaurav Agarwal, Sanjay Ahuja
