HSBC recently announced the rebranding of its popular Cashback Credit Card as the new Live+ Credit Card. Consumers will earn 10% cashback (up to Rs. 1,000 p.m.) on dining, grocery, and food delivery, along with unlimited 1.5% cashback on other spends. Additional benefits include discount at partner restaurants through the Live+ Dining Programme and complimentary domestic airport lounge visits. Focusing primarily on dining and groceries, the card would be competing with other dining-centric options like the Swiggy HDFC card as well as all-round cashback cards like the Cashback SBI Card. A couple of months ago, Vistara Airlines announced its merger with Air India, resulting in the integration of its loyalty program Club Vistara with Air India’s Flying Returns Program. While this integration between Air India and Vistara is still in process, the Club Vistara program continues to exist. Vistara has not announced how this merger would affect the airline’s co-branded cards offered with leading providers: SBI Card, Axis Bank, IDFC FIRST Bank and IndusInd Bank.   For Vistara loyalists who travel frequently, these credit cards can be a game changer in terms of travel savings. Depending on the card variant, cardholders can get complimentary Economy, Premium Economy or Business Class tickets on reaching spending milestones. The cards also offer CV Points as value-back, which can be redeemed for domestic flight ticket bookings.    Here’s a quick look at what each of these Vistara co-branded credit cards offer and how one should choose among the 7 available options. Yesterday, on July 15, 2024, the migration of all Citibank credit cards to Axis Bank was successfully completed. Citi cardholders will receive their corresponding Axis credit cards in due course. But even without the new card, all active Citi cards will function with the updated features of their respective Axis cards, effective July 15. Certain aspects of the Citi credit cards would remain unchanged, such as the card number, CVV, expiry date, ongoing EMIs, billing cycle, and card controls. However, as the cards migrate to new Axis cards, some features will change. The changes should make Citi cardholders happy as their new Axis cards will mostly offer enhanced benefits, including a higher reward rate, better redemption options and lifestyle perks. What are the best credit cards to save on utility bills? 💳 Most card reward programs typically do not include utility bill payments. This is after most banks that earlier offered rewards on utilities either excluded them or reduced the reward rate on utility payments made by credit cards. From May 2024, YES BANK and IDFC FIRST Bank introduced an additional 1% fee if utility bill payments in a statement cycle exceed the limit of Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively. Effective Aug 2024, HDFC Bank has also imposed a 1% fee on utility bill payment exceeding Rs. 50,000 per transaction. It’s likely that other banks may soon follow suit.
